U' Paisi MiuMy Village
Poesia tradizionale cerisaneseTraditional Cerisano poem
Cerisano, terra mia,
cu' li chianchi e li viuzzi,
u campanaru ca sona
e li vecchi ai balcunizzi.
U' sole 'nca tramonta lentu
supra l'ulivu argentatu,
e lu core sente u ventu
ch'arricorda u' passatu.Cerisano, my land,
with its flat stones and narrow lanes,
the bell tower that rings
and the elders on the small balconies.
The sun that sets slowly
above the silver olive tree,
and the heart feels the wind
that recalls the past.
La MuntagnaThe Mountain
Tradizione oraleOral tradition
Muntagna rossa all'alba mia,
quandu u' gaddu canta via,
l'aria fresca de matino
porta l'odore d'u' zagino.
E nui, figghi de sta terra,
portamu u' core senza guerra,
ca' Cerisano sempe resta
comu 'na festa.Red mountain at my dawn,
when the rooster crows away,
the fresh morning air
carries the scent of orange blossom.
And we, children of this land,
carry our hearts without war,
for Cerisano always remains
like a feast.
